Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Massive Home Construction: The Punjab government has taken another important step and decided to facilitate the construction of houses for the poor and homeless under the “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” program. A high-level meeting was recently held under the chairmanship of Housing Minister Bilal Yasin in which emphasis was placed on accelerating the pace of the program and the timely provision of interest-free loans.

The meeting took place in Lahore under the chairmanship of Provincial Housing Minister Bilal Yasin. During the session, Secretary for Housing and Urban Development, Noorul Amin Mengal, presented a comprehensive briefing on the program’s progress. According to Noorul Amin Mengal, applications from more than 634,000 people have been received under the program so far, out of which the construction of about 4,000 houses has been completed. This number is a reflection of the government’s commitment to public welfare.

It was decided in the meeting that instructions have been issued to Akhuwat and other microfinance institutions (MFIs) to increase offices and staff. So that interest-free loans can be provided to the maximum applicants promptly. These institutions will receive government support to ensure transparency and speed in the financial assistance process.

It was also agreed in the meeting that awareness and guidance centers will be established at the locality, tehsil, and district levels for the convenience of the public. The aim of these centers should be to provide complete information about the program to the public, help in filling out the application form, and provide guidance regarding the loan process.

Rapid Screening Process Ensures Only Deserving Get Apni Chhat Apna Ghar Loans

Housing Minister Bilal Yasin said in the meeting that the screening process of more than 600,000 applications is going on at a fast pace. Each application is being examined on merit so that only deserving and needy people can benefit. He also made it clear that no kind of corruption or recommendation will be tolerated.
