Phase II of CM Free Livestock Program Starts
The Government of Punjab has officially launched Phase II of CM Free Livestock Program starts led by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. After the great success of Phase 1, this program is back with improved planning and a larger reach, aiming to empower poor and deserving women across South Punjab. Under this scheme, eligible women will receive free livestock, including cows, buffaloes, and goat, along with starter feed and veterinary support. The goal is simple: help women start their small-scale dairy businesses from home, improve nutrition, and fight poverty in rural areas.
What Is the Free Livestock Program?
The CM Punjab Free Livestock Program is a poverty-alleviation initiative by the Punjab Livestock Department. It provides high-quality animals to deserving women at no cost, allowing them to earn a stable income through dairy farming and livestock care. This initiative especially targets widows, divorced, or separated women who lack financial support. With livestock, they can sell milk and meat, support their families, and contribute to their local economy.
